Adoption Workshops & Trainings

Life-Long Learning Institute
Open Arms' Life-Long Learning Institute was launched in 2008 thanks to a generous gift from the Rosenberg Family Fund.  The Institute offers enlightening workshops and events for all those touched by adoption.  As adoption is an ever-changing and evolving process for all involved, Open Arms provides adoptive families, birth families, interested community members and professionals with a forum to learn, share and belong.

Families Like Ours (FLO)
Families Like Ours (FLO) is a gathering for families who have adopted African American children (all ages) to share experiences and knowledge and provide mutual support. Families Like Ours (FLO) believes honoring our children’s African American heritage is imperative to helping them develop a positive self-identity. FLO is committed to strengthening multiracial/multicultural families by providing a network of education, resources, socialization, and support to trans-racially adopted children, their siblings and parents.
